Do you like stories set in unusual or exotic locations? How about unique or interesting occupations? Combine both, wrap them around adventure and romance, and that’s the kind of reading that takes you places!
It’s also a style of writing for me. I love history, travel, and adventure. I like to experience new places, cultures, and journeys. It has prompted me to scramble over glaciers in Alaska, climb ancient Mayan pyramids in the Yucatan, dive reef caves in the Caribbean, prowl northeast Australia’s coastal rainforest, and zip-line through a jungle canopy in the West Indies. I’ve also fearlessly camped in Canada’s Sasquatch country. Wait…fearless might be a stretch. A dark night spent in the heart of bigfoot territory is totally unnerving. Not even kidding.
Scared or not, wanderlust and curiosity are a constant companion. In fact, exploration is a strong family trait that spans generations, it’s literally woven into my DNA. I grew up surrounded by esoteric studies, tales of lost civilizations, mythology and archeology, ancient mysteries and secret societies. It seriously influences my writing, always my choice for reading, and inspires all my travel destinations.
